I can’t be the only one who looked at our glorious VGA screen and noticed that the pics that came up in our TF3D favorite tab (and on our caller ID) just aren’t VGA. It probably isn’t even QVGA. It’s pixilated and not Diamond-worthy. Well if there’s a problem there’s a solution and im here to share it.
First, look at the picture on the Top of Doug Smith. That’s my TF3D tab showing Doug as a favorite which I added by simply adding the contact which was already in Outlook. Look at the eye- what is that, like four pixels? And you can barely see Doug’s flowing hair:)
Now I’m going to take that picture of Doug and transfer it to my Diamond and add the picture from within TF3D isntead of through Outlook. If that does not work then move the photo to your PC and open it in any of the paint applications. I’m using freeware Paint.Net and I am going to change the image size to 640×480 by going to Image - Resize. Now when you do that one of the dimensions won’t work (i.e. if you keep the ratio fixed which you should do or else the picture will looked stretched then the size will be a little off - just pick one of 480 for width or 640 for height - it really doesn’t matter that much). Save that image and then move it to your Diamond. If the contact is not added to your TF3D tab add it now and add the picture moved to your Diamond as the contact picture. If the contact was already added then go into TF3D People Tab, go to the contact you want to clean up (in my case Doug Smith) and then go to Menu (right soft key) and Change Photo and point it to the photo you resized and moved to your Diamond. And look at the difference - Doug has never looked so good!
